Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! This is my first post and to be completely honest I had no idea what to write about. I had another blog, but it was awful so I decided to just to re-start from scratch and delete it. So to start off I thought would let my readers get to know me , know why i'm starting this blog and know more about my background in blogging ( hence "Blast from the past").
My name is Lydia and I'm a 15 year old black french Canadian that's obsessed with Beyonce and has a cat named Frida.
. I love photography, fashion, documentaries, independent films and I'm kind of obsessed with Tumblr ( and if you so happen to have tumblr you can follow me http://crosion.tumblr.com/). My aspiration in life is to travel the world, help as many people as I can and learn as much as I can.
The reason why I decided to make a blog was simply because I saw other people doing it and it looked cool. I was first introduced to the world of fashion blogging by one of my sisters friend who is also a blogger. It was the first time I had ever seen a blog that was body positive , fashionable and for the very first I truly understood what feminism was through her posts. I found out about her blog when my sister did a photo shoot for her,and man oh man I was amazed. They all looked fantastic, it was like they just came out of vogue y'all.( http://ceedling.blogspot.ca/2012/05/feel-good.html)
So I decided to look at more blogs online and I found http://rookiemag.com/. Rookiemag is an online magazine for young teenage girls full of diys ideas, tutorials ,photo sets made my young women and many more. The founder of Rookiemag is Tavi Gevinson a young female blogger who started at the age of 11. I always loved taking picture and doing photo shoot but thought that was something that only models and supermodels could do, but this magazine showed me that's no matter how old, how much you weight or where you're from it is possible to be achieve a high status in the fashion/ modeling industry and that everyone should have that opportunity, its not just reserved for models and supermodels. Although, before I had even known about the magazine in my little black girl heart I still didn't care and continued taking pictures and perusing photography.I start taking pictures at a young age thanks to my older sibling who are also into photography. So that helped me become more comfortable around the camera with posing and overall more of an appreciating and desire for the art.

Fast forward to 2012 and my sister gets invited to do another photo shoot, and to my surprise I got invited as well. I was so excited I couldn't believe it! To finally be in a photo shoot and it be in a successful blog where people I didn't know were going to see it was the most exciting thing for me. I also knew I was about to have the coolest profile picture in the 9th grade.

Little did I know I wasn't just going to just do a photo shoot but meet one of my inspirations! That day I met Sarah Anne the owner of Big Hips Red Lips (http://www.bighipsredlips.com/). Before doing this photo shoot I had read her blog and learned about body positivity which was a concept I had never hear before. I learned so much from her blog about loving your own body , that to this day I have her to thank for my outlook on body image. In fact, I had no idea that she was in the photo shoot until we picked her up and I saw her coming into the car. I may or may not have cried tears of joy.
Later that year, that photo set got publish on Regis Magazine and I was made into a cartoon for the very first time.
Since then. I have done multiple photo shoot thanks to Celia .(http://ceedling.blogspot.ca/_ )

Basically i'm into loud patterns , denim and leather.
I hope this post helped y'all get to know me better! I'm aiming to be able to update my blog every week but it might end up being every other week, but t'ill then adieu.
